This is the original advertisment that prompted me to purchase my Realistic DX-160 way back in 1975. Below that is a YouTube video I found that shows a DX-160 in action, they are only using three feet of wire for an antenna, so under the circumstances, it goes great.
I took my Realistic DX-160 apart, pulled it down completely and cleaned it, then painted it flat black, the original colour was gray but I like the black better. I'm planning to repaint it but instead of a flat black, try something with a metal flake styled finish, I’ll publish photographs on this site when I finally do it.
